Unleash Your Book's Potentional. It's Never Too Early To Start Your Marketing Campaign.

Jane WesmanIt takes commitment and perseverance to write a great book. But your job as an author does not stop once the book is scheduled for publication.

With nearly a million books being released every year, writers should start their marketing campaign as early as possible. Below are five crucial activities to initiate your marketing journey.

  • Define Your Target Audience: Determine who your ideal readers are. Assuming your book has something for everyone is not a strategy. Get clear about who will truly benefit from your book.
  • Build A Website To Showcase Your Book: Include book description, author bio, endorsements, contact information, space for media coverage, and links to buy the book online. You can offer a free chapter download to attract readers and help capture email addresses. Always remember to organize your website for search engine optimization.
  • Choose Your Social Media Platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, and more – it’s overwhelming to try to build a following on all of them. Focus on two or three platforms at most. Choose the ones that reach your target audience and then start posting.
  • Seek Endorsements: Ask influencers – writers, business associates, colleagues, experts, or anyone whose support will help generate interest – to provide written endorsements. Endorsements are used on your book jacket and website, on online booksellers, and in your social media and other promotional activities.
  • Begin Email Marketing: Build your email list. Don’t worry if it’s small to begin. Your website is a good source for email sign-ups and so are your social media platforms. The key is to send emails on a regular basis and to include links to purchase your book online.

These are the steps that will lay the groundwork for a successful book marketing campaign. Let us know if you need additional advice.

All my best, Jane
